big trouble

Well its still sinking in here whats going on in Lebanon. There are over 250,000 lebanese here in the UAE. A couple of weeks ago school holidays started so there are so many dads here worried sick about their families.
And brothers and sisters and sons and daughters. The lebanese people here are such a huge lively part of the population. Dubai is subdued, people are out and trying to comfort each other in the restauraunts and shisha. One of my close friends is just distraught, hes worried sick about his elderly mother in Beiruit and his brother who is a volunteer with the red cross and who was injured while trying to help.
Last night 86 irish people arrived in Dubai airport from Lebanon. They were palefaced and scared shitless from a fifteen hour bus journey through back roads to Damascus from Beirut. The road had been bombed and a few lucky escapes were had.
Believe it or not but these are the really lucky ones.
My old boss, i started a new job this week, has been trying to get his wife and his six month old nad three year old airlifted with the americans.
He said his wife couldn't make it through the journey on her own and his parents said they would never leave or surrender to Isreal.
Now there are reports that people are running out of food. Gas is scarce and vital supplies are running out. I hope that Isreal pulls out soon, the humanitarian cost could be huge otherwise. I feel for the people all aorund me who are usffering and those in Lebanon that do not deserve this.
